Little Richard by Thomas Copi
Little Richard Penniman grew up in a household so religious that he was not allowed to listen to or sing R&B music. But after leaving home and becoming involved in show business, first as a gospel singer, he hit it big with "Tutti Frutti." He is one of the true originators of Rock & Roll.. That's why it seemed so bizarre, given his reputation and history, that he should be playing and singing in the middle of the night in some cornfield in Iowa. But there he was, in his little white go go boots and his costume covered with mirrors, playing that piano and singing those songs that we all grew up knowing word for word. Very trippy.
