Iggy Pop by Thomas Copi

As night falls over Crosley Field, Iggy Pop takes the stage at the Cincinnati Rock Festival, with his band, the Stooges. They are loud and Iggy is wild. He dives into the audience and is swallowed up; then all of a sudden there he is, rising up out of the crowd, being lifted by many hands, being held aloft by the cheering throng. Someone hands him a large jar of peanut butter and he slathers it onto his chest and throws the peanut butter about, into the crowd. This picture was selected by the editors of Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the top Rock photos of the Seventies.
