Earth, Wind & Fire, Hollywood 1980

The shot of the band Earth, Wind and Fire is from the album cover session that I did for the album entitled "Faces" for ARC/Columbia Records, released on 10/14/80.
The session was shot at my studio in Hollywood, CA on May 9th,1980. The bands costumes were spectacular - they were very proud of the them. It was an honor to have one of the world's greatest R&B bands in front of my lens. The most difficult part of creating this photograph was determining where to position each band member. I was unaware of the hierarchy of the band so I had to ask the band's leader Maurice White his opinion.
