Wes Montgomery by Thomas Copi
$300.00
Wes Montgomery worked for bandleader Lionel Hampton early in his career, and later worked with his musical brothers, Buddy and Monk. In the mid-sixties he made a series of jazz-pop records for Verve, and later A&M records, and was at the peak of his popularity when he suddenly died of a heart attack at home in Indianapolis, aged 45. That was less than a year after this photo was taken at the the 1967 Newport Jazz Festival, where he played with his brothers.
