Tom Waits by Richard E. Aaron

A comic portrait of Tom Waits from 1976, the year his "beatnik-meets-Hollywood-noir period" reached crescendo with the release of Small Change. That album, which dealt with issues of existential paralysis as a result of intense alcoholism, featured songs such as "The Piano Has Been Drinking" and "Bad Liver and a Broken Heart" performed with Waits' drunken diction.
