Marty Balin, singer, songwriter and founding member of The Jefferson Airplane, appeared with that group at an outdoor Rock Festival on the grounds of the Michigan State University. Thousands of hipsters and other music fans turned out on a cloudy day to see their Surrealistic Pillow stars in person. They did not disappoint. California magic comes to Michigan.
